A couple of Saturday's ago, we went to Fairfield and spent some time with Kathy (Aunt Kathy), a coworker and good friend of mine from Jelly Belly. She got lunch for us and Reagan got a couple of gifts from her--an Alphabet Pal by Leapfrog, which she has thoroughly enjoyed. Heck, even the adults got to enjoy it--there is a nursery rhyme for every letter of the alphabet, so it was fun to guess. Kathy also made a blanket for Reagan. Her room is pink and yellow, so it only added to the ensemble! We love it!
Kathy and my other buds from JB have been so good to us and Reagan! They always call to check up and wanting to see her. It is great to still keep in touch with them.
Reagan is still enjoying the thoughtful gifts from family and friends. She absolutely loves her Little People car and blinking flashlight from Grandmas and Grandpas Rasmussen and Roundy. This week we showed Reagan how to blow bubbles for the first time--it was a soapy mess, but fun. Thanks, Mel, for the bubbles. We had to go to the store and get a huge refill since we used the other ones so fast. The wind was blowing so dang hard when we blew the bubbles that it looked really cool. This week in church, her "quiet-time" gifts came in handy--the I Spy game from Robb and Lori. She liked that and didn't understand how she couldn't just grab at the rice! She also has this backpack from Loren and Kelly that we put on her and she doesn't realize she is wearing it. Sometimes she will notice the strap on her shoulder and she'll pull and tug at it, but other than that, she really doesn't mind.
The temps this week have been unreal. Although it cooled off for the weekend, thursday and friday were killer. On friday, the construction guys that are redoing our deck had to remove the sliding glass door. That let all the hot air in and I ended up turning off the AC. After Reagan's nap, we went to playgroup, which was perfect since it was at a park with water. I honestly thought, "oh, Reagan enjoys water, so she may have a good time, but we'll see." Man, I REALLY underestimated her! She had a blast! After two hours and two coats of sunscreen, we called it good so that I could get her home for a nap. She protested and didn't want to leave. I had a hard time even pulling her away for a quick bite of lunch! You KNOW she is enjoying herself if she doesn't beg for lunch.
There was this mushroom thing that had water spilling out from the top and it was a little pool with maybe an inch or two of water. That spilled out onto some different concrete levels and then into a little river, complete with rocks and sand. The park was pretty cool. I guess that is what happens when your a city like San Ramon and have loads of money. Reagan crawled up and down and all over the place in this water and wouldn't sit still. She had a few scrapes on her legs from the concrete, but did not mind one bit!
