BYU

We went to our alma mater, BYU, while in Utah last week! I haven't been to campus since we moved back in 2004 and there have been many changes! The reason for going and the biggest change is this new addition to campus: The Gordon B. Hinckley building. I loved the building though it was an odd architecture for campus. More of a mansion than a building. But since it is the visitor and alumni center, I guess the design is fitting. One of the huge murals in the GBH building. The upper left photo is Matt's class, unfortunately he is not in the photo. He was too busy pen-fighting (aka flirting) with the girl next to him.
You'll here this from me more than once: the tulips in Utah this time of year are incredible!!We visited the BYU bookstore, where I just couldn't bring myself to spend so much on a Cougars hoodie. We also had some bookstore fudge.
Nolan and my mom
The princess's of the group: Emma and Reagan.
The two preggers and the coed: Cait, Lindsey, Loni.

Oh yeah, I insisted on this one: eating at the Cougareat Food Court. It has been way too long since I had my spinach wrap with BYU ranch dressing. It was pretty good.
It is funny how old I felt walking on campus. Even though you wouldn't think it, we got lots of stares with the kids. Even so, I love this institution with all my heart and it was fun to visit!
Loni showed us her digs on the way out and we ate at her work, Fro Yo, the best frozen yogurt in Provo. It was pretty good, just wish they weren't out of chocolate! Here is our vanilla froyo with snickers on top, after we took a few bites, of course. Lonsters.

Re-living Espana!!

Last night our ward had an activity that spotlighted countries and cultures from around the world. Matt dislayed a table for Spain, where he served his mission. I think he found it slightly exciting to go through some of his old boxes and photos and memorabilia and remember those 2 years he spent there. He didn't care to make a dish, so I thought I would try out one of his favorites from there: spanish tortilla. He calls it some other name, but this is what it is called online:) I think it turned out nicely and Matt said it mostly resembled the real thing in taste.
Oh, really Matt???

I love trying out food from other countries. My favorites were the Australian dessert the Berrett's made and the lemon chicken from Guam. Also, this tres leches cake for dessert, that was some good stuff.

Oakland Zoo

Saturday was a beautiful day and we decided to make use of our season passes at the zoo and take Matt there. Reagan was really excited about the "soo" and equally glad dad was going. Do you like the guy itching his nose in this pic? It was hot and we smothered her in sunscreen.
Nolan slept some in the carseat.
These turtles are awesome and one of my favorite things at the park.
This was hilarious!! Those chimps are nuts.

Reagan could spend like an hour walking back and forth on these pads.
I held Nolan.
I like this face!
This was classic. She loves this ride.
Nolan is my little bub.

Smiles

Nolan is a really happy baby. Except for when he is tired, hungry or gassy, he is pretty content. His biggest smiles come from his bathtub.

Warriors Game

Last Monday Matt dubbed himself in charge of our Family Night activity and we headed into Oakland to watch the Golden State Warriors play the San Antonio Spurs. This was my first experience at an NBA game and it didn't disappoint. I really don't care much about basketball on TV, but in person it is a more exciting and fast-paced experience. I actually found it more exciting than all the BYU football games (no comment from you Ute fans, please--you know what I mean).

Celebrating Easter

On Friday before Easter, my very crafty friend Laura has some kids over to do Easter crafts and projects. They made "resurrection rolls," candy necklaces made out of peeps, frosted cookies, etc. They had a great time and learned more about why we really celebrate Easter.

On Saturday, we headed to a bbq and egg hunt at the Clark's. Matt chilled in a wheelchair. (Lori and Jenn, who does this remind you guys of?) What is Kupa'a wearing on his head??? I think it is a paper Easter hat, but we joked that he looked like he worked in fast food.
LOVED Will's apron. He should wear that next time he is in downtown San Francisco.
Reagan and Nolan with the Easter bunny.
My little dude is chunking up!!!
Swinging on the swings.
Reagan hunted for eggs!
with her layered headbands, she looked like an 80's aerobics instructor.
Lots of loot!!
We now have WAY too much candy than necessary. Next year the Easter bunny might just have to bring a basket of fruits and veggies or toothbrushes because between two egg hunts, we had plenty of sugar.

Easter Sunday

Reagan woke up on Easter morning to a basket of goodies!! The Easter bunny was lazy this year and decided not to hide them. He (she) was way too dang tired. Reagan was ecstatic and ate a breakfast of candy, a lunch of candy, and a dinner of candy. Sugar high All.Day.Long! My kids in their Easter attire! They match nicely, don't you think?

Mom and Reagan

Dad and Reagan, right before he stood up and stabbed his back on the edge of the stair rail.We went to the Michael's for an Easter dinner and egg hunt. The dinner was immaculate and delicious and most of the credit goes to a mom of a 3 week old. Impressive! Reagan hunted eggs for her third time!! She had it down pat.

Do you like her basket? It is from Matt's mom and it has "Matthew" embroidered on the back. Nice!!
