I finally watched it!

I have always been a huge Dancing with the Stars fan until this season. I think I just got sick of it. That usually happens with reality shows and me. I enjoy the first couple of seasons (i.e. The Apprentice and Survivor) then I just get bored and realize that the producers of the show only pick hot people to be contestants. But now that the so-so's have been weeded out, Matt and I actually tuned into the show last night. Now I can chat with Mom Roundy about it! Here's what I think: I feel like I really SHOULD like Marie Osmond...after all she is from Utah and is Mormon, right? And the Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman is allright, she really tries. But Matt and I both agree there is something about older women who try to be 20 and sexy. Its just gross. We flinched every time Marie shimmied last night and when Jane (aka Dr. Quinn) walked out in that bathing suit...er, I mean, dress...I about died. I wear more to the beach than she did and I am in my 20's. All that aside, those two are mighty good dancers. Jennie Garth was a much better actress on 90210. I just don't like her facial expressions. Those expressions that people do in ballroom dancing (you know the ones I am talking about) can come natural to some and look good, but just not on her. But again, I have to hand it to her...the dancing is good. The soap star Cameron is good too, but I think he may be going home. Matt says he has guns and I say he has crazy eyes. Why does his partner always wear leg warmers during practice?? Let's see...who else? Mel B is good. I think she will win it. She was definitely 'spicy' last night. I actually really like her accent, too. I normally am not fond of the English accent--sorry--but it suits her. I actually enjoyed listening to her speak.

In other tv news...The Office!! Jim in a mustache and Karen...clearly still not over him. I have a strong feeling that we haven't seen the last of Karen. I had a hard time picking a quote from the episode. I enjoyed Michael asking Jim to host the dundies if he doesn't survive and also Phyllis' microwave popcorn quote. Plus Dwight had some pretty good quotes, but they contained bad words, so I guess I shouldn't post them, even though I was ROFL. Rolling on the floor laughing...I got some text message lingo from my sister Loni. Sometimes I steal her phone when she isn't looking and I read all the text messages she has received and sent. I do not understand what the big deal is over texting. Why does Loni's friend, who she just saw 10 minutes ago, text her 'Hey' and that is it? Then Loni texts back, 'Hey' and her friends writes 'What are you doing?' and yada-yada. Seriously, she could easily call her up if she had something important to say, right? I have, however, finally learned finally what LOL and ROFL means. I will throw a few more out there as I read Loni's messages and learn them.

FR & DMI

I can't believe the first two episodes have come and gone and I still haven't blogged about it! Well, better late than never. Fun Run, the premiere, was great because it had been months since a new episode, but I didn't think it was all that funny. I don't know why. Maybe because I just had JAM (or PB &J, as they are now called) on the brain, so nothing else really mattered. I did think the Dwangela storyline with the cat Sprinkles was hilarious. That is really in character for Dwight to kill a cat. I also thought Jan threatening Pam was so dang funny. Jealous, possessive Jan is great. I didn't find Andy's bleeding nipples all that funny and the Michael running was so-so. Jim and Pam were too dang cute, though. Like I said, all this would've been funnier if I hadn't spent the first 30 minutes fuming because they were both "single," then the next 30 minutes in heaven because they were secretly dating and holding hands. Dunder Mifflin Infinity was funnier, in my opinion, although Matt and I were split on this. He didn't like it too much. My favorite parts were Ryan getting rejected by Pam (and Jim's too-cute-for-words reaction), Creed using printer ink to dye his hair (did anyone else catch that? If not, re-watch and you will), and Jan and Ryan confrontation. In fact, I liked most of it, with the exception of the last bit with Michael driving his car into a lake, then demanding his gift basket back. Seriously, I know that Michael is a bit much, but who really does that? Oh well, it is just a tv show for laughs! I am looking forward to next week's episode because it is more of the new DMI website launch and I really like this part with Ryan all snotty and big-headed. Next thursday I will miss it, but for a better reason: Me and my little Reg's are flying to New Mexico to spend some much-needed time with Lori and Nick. We can't wait!

This is The Week

It is Sunday night and it feels like forever until Thursday night. That is when I will finally be able to see what really went down with the Dunder Mifflinites over the summer. If you watched their summer videos either online or after last weeks episode, Jim dumped Karen and we will see what is going on it him and Pam. Ryan is now Michael's boss and is ready to take Dunder Mifflin into the paperless world. He and Kelly are bitterly over. Dwight and Angela vacationed together, but are obviously keeping things under wraps still. It should be a really fun season. I can't wait. I put a new quote on and it is way back from Season 2...and I found it on all the Office goodies that are being sold in your local Target $1 bins! If you are a fan of The Office and are in the area of a Target, these things are quite a steal. I am psycho and spent almost $30.00. That means I bought almost 30 items. Not all are for us, though. They had pens, pencils, dry-erase boards, memo pads, mouse pads, stress balls, and best of all, mugs. I got this weeks quote from one of the mouse pads.

Womens Appreciation

I had a hard time finding a new quote that was appropriate for the blog!! Yesterday's episode had many cringeworthy moments, didn't it? In real life, Michael would so be gone by now for his conduct at work. But this is The Office and Steve Carell isn't going anywhere! I am very much looking forward to next weeks episode, mostly because the NBC promo shows that we may have a few JAM moments! That is good because my toast was tasting a little dry. Also, we get to see all the characters out of the office and in a more comfortable situation, similar to Booze Cruise from Season 2. This time they are at the beach (or a lake). I won't give many spoilers, but let's just say that Pam has some things she would like to say.

Safety Training in The Office

Tonight was Safety training day in the Office. Some very funny moments:

1. All the betting in the office...Creed and the potato, Kelly's netflix explanation, and of course the jelly beans (nice sort-of JAM moment).

2. Michael laughing while he explained kicking the ladder out from under Darryl.

3. Creed peeing in the bushes...he is kind of a disturbing character, but his randomness adds to the hilariousness. We've all met someone out of sorts like him, right?

4. Loved how it was free from tension and drama. Simple humor, like that found in season 2.

Umm...I also think that Michael needs to tone down the stupidity a little bit. He seems over the top sometimes, and contemplating jumping off a roof is really too much. Am I wrong? Does anyone agree?

But, hey, it is The Office. I expect a lot, but really, it will never disappoint me ;)

REAL QUICK:

American Idol-Legs, I mean Haley, is gone. I think she knew even before they announced her name. I am really warming up to Jordin and of course, still like Blake.

Dancing with the Stars-Joey was awesome and I still am rooting for Ian and Cheryl...I love her and Ian looks like my bro Lance.

Negotiations

I thought last nights episode was LOL funny. My favorite parts:

1. Michael wearing a womens suit, claiming it was a bisexual suit. How hilarious when he stuck his butt out at Pam?? And Phyllis playing with the shoulder pads--so funny! I actually saw this clip before the episode even aired and had to watch it again and again, I loved it.

2. Angela and Dwight, making out

3. Dwight's talking head, when he is blinking from having pepper spray in his eyes. So funny!

4. Michael's wikipedia discovery (see quote of the week)

There were plenty more as well, but here are a few observations I had as well, good and bad:

1. Jim looks tired. I am not sure if that is what his character is supposed to look like right now or if the guy who plays Jim is just plain tired from acting. But he is clearly wearing a wig in this episode and the bags under his eyes are noticeable. He isn't his usual perky self. This could also be the fact that he is dating a girl he really wants to like, but doesn't and the girl he does like, he doesn't trust. Relationship woes...I am so glad I am married and done with that!

2. Toby gets treated like dirt in every episode, especially by Michael. Does this guy not have a backbone? Honestly. I think he has a lot of pent up anger and one of these up coming episodes, he may just explode. Oh yeah, and is he still crushing on Pam?

3. Darryl is one of the funniest background characters on this show and he clearly deserves more air time. I laughed so hard at him yesterday.

4. Karen is turning into a bad girlfriend. Her comment for Jim to get out and sell paper so they could go on a trip was really awful. She seems like a headstrong woman and is clearly fed up with the love quadrangle, but its no excuse to say that. I think this is the beginning of the end of Jaren (or Kim). I think she is going to be offered a job at corporate in the season finale, which is titled The Job.

I still stick with my prediction that the season finale will be Pam confessing her love for Jim, much like he did with last season. All the episodes will lead up to that, with Pam becoming more self confident and speaking her mind. Something "big" will happen with Michael and Jan...that has been confirmed by the mouths of the actors themselves. I cannot wait to find out!

Wow.

So, remember my post on Jim being dead meat? Watch this 4 minute clip of the Jim/Pam saga, courtesy of NBC and YouTube. The most important part is the last few seconds, but watch the whole thing because it is just plain good stuff. I think we get a sneak at the cold open for April 5th episode (titled The Negotiation). It does tell us to "get there early." Do you guys think Andy saves the day by jumping in Jim's defense getting rid of his wicked anger management skills?

I am extremely gruntled.

Happy St. Patty's Day!

What a nice day to be celebrating the Irish--I have my window open, I can hear our neighbors lawn mower, birds singing and chirping, the sky is still a brilliant blue, and Emily Merrill just brought me a quart of Chocolate Malted Crunch ice cream. I had seriously just gotten out of the shower, heard the doorbell, went and peeped through the hole and saw it was her. I could see the ice cream in her hand. I opened the door, towel and all. I had gone two days ago to get some and they were all out! She is my hero today. Thanks, Emily!

Reagan is getting around these days. Not in a kinky way--she is really moving around. Matt and I have decided to make more room for her and clear some space for her on the floor. She is a joy to be around. I used to be so thankful when she went to sleep, so I could get stuff done. And when she woke up, I would be like darn! She needs to sleep longer. Now I look forward to hearing her in her crib, just so she can give me that big toothy grin and I can see more of her blossoming personality. She is at a fun stage. She is still enjoying food, especially refried beans and Miriam Pinoli's yummy rice, which we discovered last night. Her favorite spring color is orange and she loves to watch her dad. Stay tuned for more on her...I have many pics of her to download.

March Madness is not going so well for Matt or I. We both have different strategies. Matt listens to all the pros predictions, ESPN commentaries. Shoot, he even prints out articles picking apart the different teams and the shot they have at winning. I simply look at all the teams and pick based on things like: the color of their uniforms, whether I like the name of the school (Villanova is just a cool sounding name!), whether they have a cool mascot, whether they are a rival of BYU's or not. You know, the things that really don't matter. Usually it works, though. But this year is off to a slow start. Matt and I are both lagging in our brackets. There may not be a bet this year at all, since we may both end up in dead last. We'll see. Things change with each round!

Last but not least, the Office has a new episode on April 5th. How excited am I? You have no idea. It is called The Negotiation and is about Michael and Darryl heading to corporate to lobby for pay raises and things happen with the Roy, Pam, Jim situation. It is going to be big...

(I'm not going to say it....it is inappropriate. Oh well, I will say it anyways).

Jim is Dead Meat

Holy cow. Last nights episode left me a little speechless, but as you are about to find out, I now have plenty to say. Roy and Pam must be over, she would look like such a fool going back to him. Bye-bye Roy, don't let the door hit you on the way out. Honest Pam is coming in. His reaction was a little bit dramatic, I wondered whether I was watching Days of Our Lives. At the cocktail party, Karen came off kinda skanky, but retracted. I am thinking she really did get with a lot of guys and was just 'testing' Jim to see what his reaction would be. Wouldn't that be funny if the CFO was really one of them? And Jim with the CFO...he is headed for a promotion. That was the most random part of the show...them playing basketball. (Matt told me that in real life, Jim has some wicked b-ball skills!) Michael and Jan were hilarious, with Jan acting like the guy and Michael the girl. Does anyone else think she may be pregnant? She complained of nausea and sickness twice this episode. I don't think this relationship will last too long. Maybe into part of next season, I don't know. Her statement "Thats what she said" made Matt and I almost fall off the couch laughing. That was classic! One of the best parts of the episode, and one of the biggest reasons I watched the Office to begin with, was Dwight at the party. He was checking the banisters and fire alarm, too funny. Oh, and how creepy was that when he was sitting in the rocking chair? I would've freaked if I was that kid!

Well, there is much to think and ponder on, and we have plenty of time...rumor is 6 weeks until the next new episode! BOO!! Until then, we get to enjoy reruns. I will end this post with a warning: Jim, if you are reading this...RUN!!!

Life is like a box of chocolates

This past Valentines Day was a first for me. I actually wanted chocolate! That's what most people give and get, right? Not me, I have never wanted candy or sweets, I usually ask Matt to refrain from buying any of that. Usually after the sweet-filled holidays, I don't want anything of that nature. But this year I did. I wanted some REALLY good chocolate. I think it had something to do with the Chocolate Week that was playing on the Food Network. Everything chocolate...how it is made, eaten, baked, etc. So I hinted to Matt that chocolate sounded good and he is no dummy. He took note of the hint and ordered some chocolate from a place called Secret Spoon Sweets. That really was some of the best chocolate I have ever had. It was a sampler box and my favorite two were the Dark Chocolate with Mint truffle and the Milk Chocolate with Caramel truffle. So if you are looking for some great chocolate, this is the place.

In other news, I loved last nights episode of the Office. I had the hardest time picking a quote, so click here for a page full of them...they are great! I think Season 3 will end up like Season 2 did, with the roles reversed. Pam will confess her love to Jim and he will have to choose between her and Karen. Just my prediction, it's probably wrong, but oh well. I felt so bad for Pam last night with her art show. Where is the love? But good ol Michael came through. The writers are brilliant at this. We had a few episodes where Michael made a complete fool of himself and we wondered if it was too much. Then he comes through and we remember why we love him.

The new quote from The Office last night is a little long, but I thought it was the best line from the whole thing. Michael ended up getting kicked out of the wedding, which was funny, although his antics throughout the whole thing were too much for me. He knows how to make a complete fool of himself, that is for sure. I love how Creed put his card on a gift and also Stanley getting a toaster. Pam left with Roy...boo! I wonder what will become? I think we all know that Jim and Pam will end up together, but they will totally pull a Friends-y ending on us and have it be the last episode of the last season. We couls be waiting a long time.

In other news, Reagan is making leaps and bounds with her eating. She ate cut up peaches, green beans, string cheese, muffins, and watermelon. Her favorites are string cheese, banana, and applesauce. She is such a healthy eater, but we all know that in a few years she will just prefer the Wendy's chicken nuggets and fries, so I am savoring it while I can.

Matt is disappointed we will be missing our ward annual Chocolate Lovers Party tonight, so I have made some chocolate covered strawberries for him to help ease the pain. Sshhh, don't tell him (just kidding, he will totally read this before he comes home from work anyways).

First of all, there is a new quote from last nights episode. It was really funny, but a little on the crude side, so this episode is not for the'easily offended.' Last nights episode made me laugh and here is why: Michael has done so many things that would have gotten him fired ages ago. Last nights episode featured him throwing a bachelor party on company time, hiring a stripper for that party, taking an employee to an adult themed store, and then admitting it all to his boss/secret girlfriend. Here is the deal: if Jan were to fire him, which she probably wanted to last night...then Michael could easily turn on her and admit they were having a secret relationship and Jan would be in trouble.

Maybe Michael is smarter than we really give him credit for!
